FOMA 2: mechanical processing for the Oil & Gas sector
The FOMA 2 department was created to meet the needs of a sector where technical complexity, traceability and response times are not optional, but minimum requirements.
In the Oil & Gas world, every order is different: critical materials, important geometries, small batches — often single pieces — and deliveries that can change quickly. This is why FOMA 2 is structured as an autonomous and highly specialised department, designed to ensure control, flexibility and reliability throughout the entire production process.
Production capacity and types of components
In this department, we manufacture large components such as stems, valve bodies, closures, flanges and gland nuts, with diameters up to 600 mm and lengths up to 2 metres.
Our machining processes are geared towards maximum precision, even on high-toughness materials, including:
AISI 316, duplex and super duplex (F51, F53), Inconel, Monel, Hastelloy, all certified according to customer specifications.
Technologies and process
FOMA 2 has dedicated machinery and a layout designed for the orderly management of material on the ground, which is essential when working with special alloys and tracked orders.
The department has six Doosan CNC lathes and three Doosan milling centres.
Each stage of the process is carefully tracked: from internal machining to surface treatment management, right through to special processes such as weld overlay, coordinated through qualified and established partners.
Traceability and control
In the Oil & Gas sector, knowing where a material comes from and how it has been processed is just as important as the finished product.
That is why at FOMA 2, every batch is managed using a comprehensive traceability system, covering materials, production cycles, checks and documentation required by the customer.
This approach allows us to guarantee compliance with specifications, process repeatability and maximum transparency throughout the supply chain.
Emergency management
We know that priorities can change quickly in this sector.
The FOMA 2 department is structured to handle emergencies and rescheduling without compromising product quality or process control, maintaining constant dialogue with the customer.
A department designed for critical projects
FOMA 2 is not just a production space, but a department designed to tackle critical projects that require technical expertise, methodology and decision-making skills.
