The desire to intercept new sectors and markets is among Foma's main characteristics. The goal is to differentiate its production as much as possible and maintain a high level of independence from market fluctuations that often go to the detriment of the performance of a given sector.
This requires a great deal of flexibility and the ability to adapt to the specific needs of the sectors we cater to.
A tangible and concrete example is the Oil & Gas sector.
In fact, in 2013 we decided to enter this new production world, with completely different dynamics from the sectors we were dedicated to: much more complex and tenacious materials, very small production batches, often the single part, dynamic and challenging delivery deadlines.
Starting from the first large lathe and the first small space dedicated to these processes, we have now reached the development of a completely dedicated and autonomous production reality.
In fact, in 2020, in order to improve and increase our market share in mechanical machining dedicated to the Oil & Gas sector, we decided to invest in a new plant located in Omegna (Via Varallo 26), which will be added to the production sites located in Armeno, the company's main headquarters.
After a year dedicated to the complete renovation of the building, which boasts more than 2,000 square meters dedicated to production, and more than 600 square meters dedicated to new offices, meeting rooms and training rooms, in 2021 we were able to inaugurate production by moving the entire department and inserting new machinery.
At this new site we now have more space available for better material handling on the floor. We produce stems, valve bodies, closures, flanges, and pre-mills that can be up to 600mm in diameter and up to 2 meters in length.
We process tough materials including AISI 316, F51, F53, Inconel, Monel, Hastelloy certified according to customer requirements and specifications. We are also able, through reliable partners, to handle welding carryover machining independently.
With this investment we have created new opportunities for our business, now having the possibility to continue the growth process that has always marked the company's history.
